Flexion Contracture of the Finger

Flexion Contracture is the term for a finger that is stuck in a bent position and cannot be straightened.

Any trauma to the finger—including sports-related sprains, jams and fractures—can cause Flexion Contracture, which is why joint injuries require immediate professional evaluation and treatment.

The condition’s severity will dictate treatment, although splinting and occupational therapy for mild cases and surgery for persistent or severe cases are the norm.
