A five year-old child with an upper extremity birth palsy (Erb Palsy) and secondary glenohumeral dysplasia successfully underwent reconstructive surgery, through a single, cosmetic axillary incision. The shoulder joint subluxation was reduced by capsulotomy and lengthening of the subscapularis muscle.

External rotation and abduction will be greatly increased by the transfer of the teres major and latissimus dorsi muscles to the greater tuberosity of the humerus.

In a six month old baby born with two underdeveloped and malformed thumbs on one hand, Dr. Pruzansky performed a complex reconstruction to create one opposable thumb, utilizing parts from each one.
